Official of Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS) attached to the Kwale Centre in Delta State

An official of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS) attached to the Kwale Custodial Centre in Delta State, Mr. Oghenekaro Araja, has been killed by unknown persons.

His assailants, it was learnt, made away with the deceased’s motorcycle.

Oghenekaro Araja, 47, made use of his motorcycle for commercial purposes in the community after official hours.

The assailants attacked him on Friday night, around Ogume junction of Kwale town, according to community sources who lamented the resurgence of motorcycle snatchers in the area.

Public Relations Officer of the state police command, DSP Bright Edafe, confirmed the killing in Asaba, on Sunday.

Edafe said: “Even though he was working there (the correctional centre), he was also an Okada rider. It is suspected that it was a passenger that did it to him. He hit him from behind and made away with his motorcycle. There was no injury.”
