Afrobeats superstar Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, and his wife, Natasha Osawaru, sparked widespread attention on Monday after a tense off-camera confrontation abruptly interrupted an Instagram Live session hosted by media personality Daddy Freeze.
The livestream featured two of 2Baba’s former management associates, Kaka Igbokwe and Lori Tosan, who made claims against Osawaru, alleging that she exercised undue influence over the singer’s personal and professional decisions. They also referenced past incidents of conflict within the couple’s relationship, including a purported domestic dispute during a trip to the United Kingdom.
During the discussion, 2Baba unexpectedly joined the livestream, sternly instructing his former managers to refrain from talking about his private life. Shortly after his intervention, raised voices—believed to be those of 2Baba and Osawaru—were heard in the background, prompting the session to end abruptly.
The incident has reignited public scrutiny of the couple’s relationship, which has been under the spotlight since 2Baba announced his separation from actress Annie Idibia in January. He later proposed to Osawaru in February, and the couple married in July.
Monday’s altercation also brought renewed attention to earlier reports claiming that 2Baba was briefly detained by police in the UK following an alleged dispute with Osawaru during his October tour. While the singer had previously dismissed the claims, attributing his missed performance to a medical emergency, the allegations resurfaced following the chaotic Instagram Live session.
As of now, the couple have not released an official statement regarding the incident.
