Travelers on Warri-Benin Highway Express Worry Over Government Inaction

Travelers on the Warri-Benin highway are facing hard times daily as they spend many hours to get to their destinations.

The deplorable state of the road is worse on the Benin end of the express road which has faced government neglect over the years.

Private vehicle owners now prefer to use public transport instead of risking their vehicles that could land them in a mechanic workshop and this has made the trip from Warri to Benin costly.

Investigation by our correspondent shows fares have trippled as passengers are made to cough out between four and eight thousand naira to get to their destinations.

While vehicles especially trucks and haulage vehicles are sometimes stuck.

Investigation further revealed that state governments are intervening through the construction of concrete to Remediate the deplorable highway that records huge traffic of trucks and other heavy duty vehicles that access the Warri Benin highway daily.

Concerned Nigerians plying the route have suggested shutting down airports nationwide to draw attention of leaders to the impact of bad roads especially the Warri-Benin road.
