Residents of Enerhen community in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State can now enjoy better access to safe drinking water following the commissioning of a solar-powered borehole.
The project was facilitated by Hon. Ben Etanabene, the member representing Okpe/Sapele/Uvwie Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
For years, the community had struggled to access clean water, with many residents forced to travel long distances to meet their daily needs. The newly commissioned borehole is expected to significantly reduce this hardship while improving the overall health and quality of life of the people.
Speaking at the commissioning, Hon. Etanabene said the initiative was born out of his awareness of the water challenges faced by the community. He added that similar interventions would soon be carried out in neighbouring communities, including Orerokpe and Sapele.
The lawmaker expressed gratitude to both the Federal and State governments, as well as community members, for their cooperation and support in making the project a reality. To demonstrate his confidence in the quality of the water, he also drank from the borehole during the event.
