Excitement is building in Warri and Effurun as the Warri Roads and Flyovers project nears completion. Two of the three flyovers Enerhen and DSC are about 99 percent finished, with only road markings left to be done, while the PTI flyover is about 95 percent complete.
The Project Technical Manager, Ghadi Mansour, confirmed that all major structural work on the Enerhen and DSC bridges has been completed. He explained that the PTI flyover is also in its final phase, with only a few remaining structural elements and finishing touches.
Although the flyovers are almost ready, work is still ongoing on connecting roads and underpasses. However, Mansour said the entire project is on track to be completed by the end of March.
The Warri/Effurun Roads and Flyovers project, approved in September 2023 and awarded to Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, is one of Delta State’s major infrastructure initiatives aimed at easing traffic congestion and improving movement along key routes. The project includes three flyovers at DSC Roundabout, PTI Junction, and Enerhen Junction, along with expanded roads, pedestrian walkways, slipways, and improved drainage systems.
Residents and business owners say the progress has already improved traffic flow in some areas and is expected to boost commercial activities when fully completed. Analysts also believe the project will support economic growth by reducing travel time and improving transportation within the region.
The development has also been seen as a major achievement of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s administration, as the state continues efforts to modernize its transport infrastructure. Once completed, the flyovers are expected to significantly improve mobility and economic activity across Warri and Effurun.
