Warri-Itakpe train resumes operations July 8

The Management of the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has announced resumption of Warri-Itakpe train services.

Recall that the corporation suspended Warri-Itakpe train services due to the poor condition of the track from Ujevwu in Delta State to Itakpe in Kogi State.

A statement signed by the Deputy Director, Public Relation, Yakub Mahmood, on Sunday, July 7, stated the train services would begin by Monday, July 8.

The statement reads: “We hereby inform the general public especially our valued passengers that the train services (WITS) will resume operation on Monday 8 July 2024, after temporary suspension of train operations along the route as result of train derailment at Abraka Railway station.

“All intending travelers on WITS, may continue to book their boarding tickets online as from today 7th July or physically at our stations from Monday 8th of July, as usual.”
