Clark’s death a monumental loss to Niger Delta – Guwor

Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has described the passing of foremost nationalist and elder statesman, Chief Edwin Kiagbodo Clark, as an irreplaceable loss whose impact will be felt for generations.

Guwor, in a heartfelt tribute during the funeral ceremony on Tuesday, at Kiagbodo, Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State, said the vacuum created by the death of the revered Pan-Niger Delta leader would be difficult to fill. The Speaker joined other prominent Nigerians from across the country who gathered to pay their last respects to the late Ijaw icon.

According to the Speaker, Chief Clark’s leadership in the struggle for the emancipation and development of the Niger Delta brought transformative changes that transcended regional boundaries. He praised the late elder statesman’s lifelong commitment to advocacy for the Ijaw people and his bold stance on national issues.

On behalf of the Delta State Legislature and the Delta Ijaw Political Forum, Guwor prayed for the peaceful repose of Pa Clark’s soul and expressed hope that his legacy would inspire continued efforts towards justice and progress in Delta State, the Niger Delta, and Nigeria as a whole.
