Delta Governorship Election Tribunal: It’s between Omo-Agege and INEC, not Oborevwori – Ovwidje

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State and the immediate past Director, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Project Development Commission, Chief Pius Ovwidje popularly known as Chief P.O.C says the ongoing Delta Governorship Election Petition Tribunal is between the Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), never with the People’s Democratic Party’s (PDP) Governorship candidate, Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori.

Ovwidje cited that the Bimodal Voter Accredited Machine (BVAS), the form EC8A including the results uploaded on the IREV portal was the answer to the just concluded Governorship election in the state and has nothing to do with ballot box snatching but largely on documentation.

Chief Pius Ovwidje made this assertion in an interview with journalists in Oghara-Efe in Ethiope West Local Government Area of Delta State, noting that, what was announced and what was seen on IREV and the form EC8A polling unit results were totally different. He said the court would be relying on these for the verdict of the election.

He also maintained that most election results from some senatorial districts and total number of accredited voters showed the wrong result was announced and must be corrected by the court.

Speaking further, the former Commissioner on the Board of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC) noted that the ex-Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege understood the Electoral Act and has adopted due process to reclaim his mandate.

He said Omo-Agege is ready to enter Osadebe House as the People’s choice after the expiration of the 180 days duration prescribed for the petition tribunal process.
