The Special Assistant to Delta State Governor on Community Development, Mr William Akpigho-Etiobonie has marked his fortieth marriage anniversary and his wife’s 60th birthday with pomp and pageantry.
The fortieth marriage anniversary of the Special Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Community Development, Mr William Akpigho-Etiobonie and the sixtieth birth anniversary of his wife, Blessing, were attended by chiefs and politicians from Okpe Kingdom.
To mark the two events, Mr Akpigho-Etiobonie empowered over twenty-one persons with cash, wrappers, presented several others with recharge cards and gifted his wife a bungalow.
The Special Assistant to the Governor thanked God for keeping his marriage for forty years and for the sixtieth birth anniversary of his wife. He attributed the success of his marriage to the grace of God, love, tolerance and forgiveness.
Mr Akpigho-Etiobonie thanked his wife for her love, patience, understanding and support over the years and promised to love her for the rest of his life.
He said the empowerment programme was his own way of keying into the MORE Agenda of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and thanked the Governor for his appointment.
Mr. Akpigho-Etiobonie expressed confidence that the empowerment would help the beneficiaries, who were mainly from rural areas, to boost their businesses.
For her part, Mrs Blessing Akpigho-Etiobonie expressed happiness at the gift presented to her by her husband and promised to love him unconditionally.
She advised new couples to build their marriage on love, tolerance and forgiveness, noting that materialism does not guarantee happiness in marriage.

Spiritual Leader of Okpe Kingdom, Archbishop Goddey Iboyi, who dedicated the bungalow built for Mrs Blessing Akpigho-Etiobonie and All Progressive Congress, APC, chieftain in Okpe Local Government Area, Hon David Agbaminor, as well as some beneficiaries, congratulated Mr William and his wife, Blessing Akpigho-Etiobonie and prayed God to continually bless their marriage.
The event was climaxed with the cutting of the marriage and birthday cake as well as dance by the celebrant.
