Delta State Government says its strong push on infrastructure is already bringing real benefits, boosting economic growth and helping to maintain political stability. Ongoing projects across the state, it noted, are also increasing public trust in government.
The Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Charles Aniagwu, shared this during an appearance on Politics Tonight on TVC. He explained that the Oborevwori administration is intentionally using development as a way to drive inclusive progress.
According to Aniagwu, the government’s focus on building and fixing rural roads is aimed at opening up economic opportunities and improving connections between communities.
He said infrastructure remains a key part of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda, with noticeable improvements already seen in farming, trade, and social interaction.
Aniagwu also revealed that major urban projects, such as the three flyovers in Effurun and Warri, are close to completion. Similar projects at Otovwodo Junction in Ughelli and Uromi Junction in Agbor are also moving ahead steadily.
He added that many rural roads that were ignored for years are now being rehabilitated, making it easier for riverine and farming communities to access urban markets.
According to him, these developments are not just improving people’s daily lives but are also building stronger trust between the government and the citizens.
Aniagwu emphasized that the infrastructure drive is more than just road construction it reflects a broader approach to governance focused on inclusive and balanced development.
By paying attention to underserved areas, he said, the government is closing long-standing development gaps and ensuring resources are shared more fairly across the state.
Speaking on the political atmosphere, Aniagwu maintained that Delta State remains peaceful and united under Governor Oborevwori, attributing this to the visible results of ongoing projects.
He noted that when governance delivers real results, it naturally earns public support, adding that the administration is focused more on action than words.
“The goal of governance is to improve people’s lives, and that’s exactly what Governor Oborevwori is doing through extensive infrastructure development,” he said.
Aniagwu also assured that strict monitoring systems are in place to ensure projects are completed on time and meet quality standards, with contractors held accountable for their work.
He further pointed out that better infrastructure is helping to improve security, as good road networks make it easier for security agencies to operate and help open up previously isolated areas, reducing crime and promoting peace.
Reaffirming the government’s commitment, Aniagwu said more projects especially in rural communities are underway to keep development on track across Delta State.
He concluded by saying that the administration’s mix of infrastructure development and responsive governance is gradually reshaping the state’s political landscape, where performance is becoming the true test of leadership.
