Former Delta Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa mourns Buhari

The immediate past Governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa has expressed deep sadness over the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari, noting his firm commitment to Nigeria as both a military Head of State and a democratically elected President.

Okowa shared these sentiments in a post on X on July 13, 2025, writing:

“It is with deep sadness that I received the news of the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari.

“President Buhari served our nation with firm commitment — first as a military Head of State and later as a democratically elected President.

“His leadership was defined by a resolute fight against corruption, efforts to strengthen national security, and the laying of critical foundations for infrastructural development across the country.

“While history will judge his legacy from diverse perspectives, his enduring patriotism and steadfast dedication to the Nigerian project remain beyond doubt.

“On behalf of my family, I extend my heartfelt condolences to the Buhari family, the government and people of Katsina State, and indeed, all Nigerians.

“May the Almighty grant his soul eternal rest and comfort all who mourn this profound national loss.”
