The National Association of Aniocha/Oshimili Students (NAAOS Nationwide) is set to host its National Cultural Day Conference on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Dennis Osadebay University, Anwai (School Field), Asaba. The event will carry the theme “Oganishu” and focus on the topic “The Role of Traditional Institutions in Nation Building.”
This annual celebration, themed “Oganihu Enuani! Ya Ka Anyi Chor,” is designed to honor the rich cultural heritage of the Aniocha and Oshimili people while highlighting the role of traditional leadership in promoting unity and national development.
Organizers announced that the conference will kick off with a red carpet at 9 a.m., followed by the main programme at 10 a.m. Attendees are expected to dress in Akwaocha (white native attire) and adorn royal beads, reflecting the pride of the region’s traditions.
The NAAOS leadership emphasized that this year’s Cultural Day will not only feature traditional music, dance, and arts but will also foster discussions on how traditional institutions can strengthen peace, social cohesion, and moral values in modern Nigeria.
HRM Agbogidi Sindi Mathias Chigozie, National Traditional Leader (Obi) and President of the association, reaffirmed NAAOS’s commitment to preserving and promoting the customs and traditions of the Aniocha and Oshimili people. He encouraged all students and community members to participate and celebrate their heritage with pride.
