Ughelli North APC Suspends 9 Executive Members, Supports Tinubu

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State has suspended nine members of its executive over allegations of gross misconduct and abuse of office.

The nine members suspended over allegations of gross misconduct and abuse of office are Mr. Samuel Evwighono, Ms. Juliet Oduma, Mr. Daniel Osiebe, Pharm. Ogaagbe Suzzy, Omokiniovo John, Onokpoma Philip, Ekama Ufuoma, Sobotie Paul, and Emayarakpo Ufuoma.

Ughelli North APC Chairman, Mr. Obakpororo Onoabedje, stated that a committee will be established to investigate the alleged violations and breaches of the party’s constitution. He also declared that any attempts to suspend the party Chairman, Secretary, and Organizing Secretary are illegal and invalid.

The Chairman reiterated his stance, saying it’s unacceptable for just nine out of the twenty-three executive members to suspend fourteen others, especially when the allegations are weak, baseless, and seemingly made up to serve their own questionable agendas.

Chief Ominimini Obiuwenwi, speaking at the meeting, stated that those who recently joined the APC cannot dictate terms to the current leadership. He stressed the need for unity within the party and highlighted Senator Ovie Omo-Agege’s significant role in building and supporting the party to its current standing.

Meanwhile, the party has passed a vote of confidence in the Ughelli North APC Chairman, Mr. Obakpororo, the Secretary, Mrs. Beauty Ubogun-Nze, and the Organizing Secretary, Hon. Henry Ophori.

The vote of confidence in the Ughelli North APC Chairman, Mr. Obakpororo, Secretary, Mrs. Beauty Ubogun-Nze, and Organizing Secretary, Hon. Henry Ophori, was backed by Godwin Odjegba (Legal Adviser), Ogbajini Felix (Auditor), Ogaga Onovughakpo (LGA Youth Leader), and Chief Johnbull Buless (Ex-Officio).

Others who supported the vote of confidence include Wanogho Nyerhovwo (Ex-Officio), Barr. Adehor A. O. (Assistant Legal Adviser), Adogbeni Moses (Assistant Auditor), Idisi Godfrey (Assistant Publicity Secretary), Libre Benson (Financial Secretary), Ogherohwo Peter (Assistant Secretary), Efetobo Innocent (Ex-Officio), along with six Ward Chairmen who also backed the decision.

Meanwhile, the Ughelli North APC has officially launched the Executive of the Leaders and Elders Council, appointing Chief Joshua Asah as Chairman, Chief Christopher Obiuwevbi as Vice Chairman, and Mr. Alfred Oghenebrorhien as Secretary.

Other key appointments include Chief Victor Ohara as Treasurer, Comrade Sunny Enenuvwedia as Publicity Secretary, Chief Florence Ayomanor as Women Leader, and Chief P.O.C Ovbije as Organizing Secretary.
