Our 2024 legislative framework will support the MORE agenda – Guwor

The Speaker, Delta State Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor has said the House will continue to work with the Executive at meeting the yearnings of Deltans.

Guwor said that the proposed legislative framework will be designed in line with the MORE Agenda of the State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, which he said focuses on enhancing quality of lives of Deltans as well as basic infrastructural development in the state.

Reflecting on the activities of the 8th Delta Assembly in the last seven months, Rt. Hon. Guwor said members of the Delta State Legislature would meet before the end of the month to set legislative agenda for 2024.

He said members would be encouraged to continue to enhance on their performances in meeting expectations of constituents across the 29 constituencies in the state.

Speaking in respect of the journey so far by the 8th Delta State Assembly, Guwor said that seven bills have so far been received, of which four were executive bills, while three, private member bills.

He added that four of the bills have been passed, of which three already assented to by the Governor, while one is yet to be signed into law, disclosing that the other three are at various stages of legislative processing.

Guwor assured that the love and unity of purpose among the lawmakers will be strengthened in the 2024 legislative year as it is key in the advancement of the state.

The Speaker however charged members to remain alive to their responsibility in the discharge of their legislative duties as their genuine services to the state were needed towards achieving the developmental goals of the state government in the state.
