Fuel Tanker Crash Disrupts Traffic, Leaves Several Injured in Delta

An unspecified number of people are feared to have lost their lives after a fuel tanker crashed on the Effurun Roundabout Flyover in Delta State.

The incident happened on Wednesday afternoon near Refinery Junction, where the tanker reportedly lost its brakes and ploughed into several tricycles and cars on the busy road.

Witnesses said there were multiple casualties, while those injured were quickly taken to nearby hospitals for medical attention.

Emergency teams, including firefighters and police, have since cordoned off the area to reduce the risk of a fire, as fuel spilled from the tanker. Authorities have not yet confirmed the exact number of victims, and commuters have been urged to take alternative routes until the situation is fully under control.
