Gbaregolor Federated Communities Appeal for the Construction of a Health Center

The people of Gbaregolor Federated Communities in Ughelli South Local Government Area have appealed to the Governor of Delta State, Right Honourable Sheriff Oborevwori, for the construction of a primary healthcare centre in the area.

The people made the appeal during their mini conference held over the weekend, emphasising that the request became necessary following the rapid growth of their population.

Gbaregolor Federated Communities, made up of Gbaregolor town, Osusurhie, Oyan, Kaimata, amongst others, thanked Governor Oborevwori for the emergence of their son, Dr Lucky Avweromre, as the Chairman of Ughelli South Local Government.

Speaking further, the President General of the Gbaregolor Federated Communities, Comrade Samson Egayomake hailed the Chairman of Ughelli South Local Government, Dr Avweromre, for the recent desilting and opening of blocked canals and waterways in Gbaregolor community, noting that the exercise would save the perennial flood challenges.

Comrade Egayomake, however re-echoed that the communities are in dire need of a befitting primary health care centre to cater for the growing health needs of the vast population.

He further appealed to Governor Oborevwori for the building of the Delta Central Campus of the Delta State Maritime Polytechnic in Gbaregolor while thanking the Chairman of Ughelli South Local Government for his support towards the school.

According to the President General of the Gbaregolor Federated Communities, there is a high need for a Police Station to ensure law and order in communities.

Other leaders of the Gbaregolor Federated Communities, including the Secretary General, Mr Victor Eruaye, explained that building a health care system in the Gbaregolor community would improve the health of the residents in the area.

They noted that many lives have been lost in the Gbaregolor Federated Communities because of the far distance to the nearest health facility.

The people of Gbaregolor Federated Communities, who thanked other sons and daughters, including the Mayor of Urhobo, Israel Akpodoro, however, appealed to them to provide an 18-seater bus to facilitate their transportation.

During the mini conference, an Electoral Committee headed by Evang Basil Esekumuemu to midwife a new Executive of the Gbaregolor Federated Communities at its annual Conference later in the year was inaugurated.
