Delta State Gets New NYCN Chairman

Comrade Milton Odiri Sagboje has emerged as the Delta State Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Delta State Chapter.

Comrade Sagboje alongside twenty six others were elected unopposed on Wednesday 23 September, 2025 at the end of the State congress of the council held in Asaba.

The State congress of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN Delta State Chapter had over 200 delegates from across the 25 Local government councils of the State as well as the 26 recognized voluntary organizations of the council.

Announcing the names of the aspirants who were successfully screened by the electoral committee, Chairman of the Committee, Dr. Amechi McDonald disclosed that the aspirants are duly qualified to occupy the various elective positions of the NYCN, Delta State Chapter.

The new executives of the council were thereafter sworn in as Bar. Emodi administered the oath of office
In his acceptance speech, Chairman of the NYCN Delta State Chapter, appreciated the support of past and present leaders of the council as well as the contributions of all delegates towards ensuring a smooth transition process in the State Council.

While commending the State Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori for his relentless effort in building a formidable youth force, Comrade Sagboje assured that Delta Youths will reciprocate the gesture by giving their unalloyed support to his administration.

He announced the constitution of a peach and reconciliation committee to interface with all agrieved parties in the council.

In their goodwill messages, Commissioner for Environment, Mr Ejiro Jamani, Senior aide to the Governor, Hon. Hope George and former president of the NYCN, Ambassador Mayor Enujeko described the emergence of Comrade Sagboje and his team as a new dawn of youth leadership in Delta State and pledged their continuous support for his administration.

Earlier at the Unity Congress, the Commissioner for youths development, Mr ThankGod Trakiriowei urged delegates to be worthy ambassadors of not only the council but of Delta State and the country at large adding that the ministry remains committed to ensuring youths across the state are adequately supported, mentored and provided with the right platforms to thrive.

The new executives led by Comrade Sagboje are expected to pilot the activities of NYCN Delta State Chapter for the next four years.
